Van Cleef & Arpels

31 rue Danielle Casanova
75001 Paris

Founded in 1906 at 22 place Vendôme in Paris, Van Cleef & Arpels came about after the marriage of Alfred Van Cleef and Estelle Arpels in 1895. Since the beginning, this High Jewellery House has made a name for itself through its technical and aesthetic inventiveness.

This is expressed through its signature creations such as the Minaudière™ precious box, an original evening handbag, the Serti Mystérieux™ technique (patented in 1933) which hides the mounting to highlight the gemstones, and the Zip necklace that can be transformed into a bracelet.

The House’s poetic sources of inspiration – nature, couture, dance and an imaginary world – and the Pierres de Caractère™ selection, exceptional gemstones that provoke an emotion, give birth to enchanting jewellery and watch collections.

An authentic showcase for the trades, the Van Cleef & Arpels workshops play a major role in the House’s excellence. Located on Place Vendôme, they are home to the Mains d’Or™: experienced artisans who combine traditional know-how and technical innovations in their creations. Working in close collaboration, jewellers, gem-setters, gem-cutters and polishers thus carry on, generation after generation, the demanding traditions and refinement unique to Van Cleef & Arpels.
