Founded in 1947, Desorme-Bellanca specialises in the restoration of built heritage, stone, masonry and roofing. It works volcanic stones and granite to make fireplaces, frames, corner stones, ledges, stairs, street furniture, sculptures and decorative elements.
Its expertise in ancient techniques enables it to restore the legacy of the past for future generations. The company employs six highly qualified specialists working on traditional plaster and stone, two Compagnons du Devoir (trade guild members) with over 30 years of experience and a stonemason from the École St Lambert.
The company masters special coatings ranging from stucco to cement paving. This complex expertise involves knowledge of wall supports, the composition of binders, the application of coatings, drying times and complex finishes (stucco). Stone working, another skill it possesses, requires an understanding of how to handle stones, draw up blueprints, cut and age stones and place them and patina them.
It works regularly on heritage sites in its region, the Auvergne.
