Appointments to the National Commission for Living Heritage Companies
The new National Commission for Living Heritage Companies was appointed by order of the Minister of the Economy, Industry and the Digital Sector and the Secretary of State for Trade, Crafts Industries, Consumer Affairs and the Social Economy on 21 January 2016 and published in the Official Journal. The Commission has 46 members (23 incumbent members and 23 deputies) and meets strict gender parity. Among these appointment, Roman Alès is President of the Commission and Isabelle Ginestet-Naudin, Vice President.
This Commission consists of professionals working to promote practices that ensure excellence in their own area of activity.

To recap, the procedure for awarding the EPV label is carried out by experts. The assessment and interpretation of the criteria for obtaining the label is entrusted to an independent National Commission. The Institut Supérieur des Métiers (ISM) is responsible for the National Commission of Living Heritage Companies secretariat and the examination of applications for the label.
The Living Heritage Company selection process is a guarantee of excellence and works as follows: examination of applications by the ISM, request for advice from government departments in the region and the appropriate consular bodies, production of a recommendation report, company visits by experts in the field, review by the National Commission and final decision from ministers.
