The company, previously installed in Asnières, now carries out its activities of repairing and reconstructing old car engines (models from 1896 to 1970) in Champigny.
All the work of the company involves precision mechanics: reconstruction of engines, repairing, grinding and adjusting of coupling rods, manufacture of head gaskets (two activities unique in France in an artisanal company), turning, milling and manufacturing customised rare parts based on the traditional rules of each period. The repair of old engines calls for the implementation of several techniques that are difficult to acquire through initial training. On average, at least 5 years are needed to train a workman and 10 years for a journeyman. The manager and one journeyman have between them over 35 years of experience in the trade.
The company carries out all the work needed for the reconstruction of an engine except for cast parts and toothed wheel work: connecting rod, piston, cylinder, crankshaft, gearbox, cylinder head, cylinder head gasket. The work is based on models, photos or old plans colllected by the family from manufacturers. Four or five other companies in France exercise part of the activities of this company.
45% of its clientele consist of mechanical and bodywork companies and artisans, and 55% private individuals, museums, clubs, film producers and institutions. The company's name gets known "through the grapevine".
