After several years as a maintenance manager, Jean-Paul Tisseyre, a trained fitter, started up as a self-employed knife maker in 1999 and then became a craftsman in 2009.

His professional knowledge, experience and perfectionism quickly made him a well-known knife maker, whose work is sought after by many a collector. In parallel to his high-end production, he makes traditional knives from the Pyrenees and other knives for daily use.

He constantly creates new models – pocket knives, hunting knives, table or collection knives –, which specialists recognise at first glance due to their clean lines, meticulous finish and innovative mechanisms. Some even say that "opening and closing a Tisseyre is a rare pleasure”. The mechanism is a model of suppleness and solidity; the parts are perfectly adjusted, demonstrating perfection and excellence in knife making.

Jean-Paul Tisseyre has been awarded a number of prices at international cutlery shows. In 2007, he won the 18th "Un des Meilleurs Ouvriers de France” competition.

The workshop also works to order. Sales are made from the workshop, on Internet and via a network of specialised distributors. The company takes part in a few shows in France and abroad.
