In fact, from antiquity until 1914, terracotta tiles and earthenware cladding were made in very similar ways. The company uses this type of production and product: same technique, use of soft clay, same basic materials, use of lead enamels and metallic oxides.
The company gets its inspiration from:
- local heritage, from Champagne and Burgundy for medieval and renaissance paving tiles. The products are made in the traditional way: manufacture of terracotta tiles from a plaque of earth encrusted with a pattern matrix.
- and from French heritage for earthenware. Some of the patterns come from ancient and little-known earthenware examples. The tiles, baked at a high temperature, are generally hand painted with raw glaze.
The workshop regularly carries out research into colour, glazed engobed tiles and the combination of glazed terracotta and raw earth. It also applies decorations.
The company works to order and via its boutique in Troyes. It works for castles, hotels and abbeys and exports some of its products.
