Set up in the village of Séez Saint Bernard, the historical birthplace of wool weaving, near the Italian border, Filature Arpin has been perpetuating the family business of threading and weaving wool since 1817.

Half of the machines used to make Filature Arpin products are listed natural heritage machines. The entire manufacturing and wool transformation process is integrated.  The operations include selecting, washing, drying, carding threading, weaving on a Jacquard loom, making and finishing.

In addition to these complex operations, the company has always been the only one that makes Bonneval cloth. This woollen, extremely robust fabric is used to make shepherds’ capes and mountain guides’ knickerbockers.  The products are sold in the threading workshop or by a network of specialised sellers in France and abroad. Some products are made for interior design, clothing and luggage. The threading shop is open to visitors.
