It is Mrs Augier who is the true force behind the concept of the Negresco, which is to present the greatest periods of the history of France through works of art, from Louis XIII to today. The Negresco was classified as a historical monument in 2003 for its facade and glass roof.
The collection of works of art at the Negresco journey through five centuries of history and offer a juxtaposition of classical and modern art. The 96 rooms and 21 suites are all different and decorated with exceptional furnishings inspired by the most outstanding periods of French art. Whether contemporary, baroque or classical, the majority of rooms offer sea views. With over 100 years of history, celebrities, actors, artists and heads of state have enjoyed and still enjoy the warm welcome of a great institution which symbolises the essence of true "Art de Vivre à la Française."
Thanks to its rich and impressive decor, the Negresco is also an ideal venue for film and fashion shoots with already more than 30 films having been shot there! Adding to this unique "Art de Vivre à la Française", the gourmet cuisine of chef Jean Denis Rieubland is without a doubt an absolute must at the Negresco. There are two gastronomic choices: the Le Chantecler restaurant has two stars and a regency decor and Jean Denis’s brasserie, La Rotonde, a 19th century carousel decor. There's live music, a DJ and a bar at the Piano Bar, which, with its early 20th century English woodwork, is a magical place whether in the day or at night.
