An important pottery centre since the 16th century, the region of Puisaye is rich in clay and ochre, a ferric stone used since pre-history as a pigment to obtain colours ranging from yellow to brown and including red. This pigment is still appreciated in the fields of decoration, fine arts and masonry because it is non-toxic and long-lasting.
Ochre extracted by the company and natural pigments are sold under the brand "comptoir des ocres”. The company also sells enamels and glazes, colorants, raw materials and material. Set up on the former site of a pottery, it has kept part of the equipment, including an 18th-century oven that is a listed Historical Monument.
