L'Art de l'Espadrille is based in the historic cradle of espadrille manufacture, the Basque country.
Its know-how lies in the hand sewing of fabric to a rope sole using scalloped stitching. The production steps for the traditional canvas flat-bottomed espadrille are the cutting of the fabric with a template according to the size, the scallop stitch sewing of the two pieces of fabric onto the sole using a needle with a triangular point propelled by a pin-hinge in the form of a large dice placed in the palm of the hand.

Different models of more sophisticated espadrilles are manufactured, either flat or with heels, with laces, elastic, etc. using more sophisticated materials such as silk, lace, or other.

The clientele is made up of individuals and a few companies. Among its individual customers the company counts celebrities who are Basque Country regulars or who are just passing through. Companies or institutions that the company supplies include the "Merci" store in Paris, Hermes for occasional events and the museum shop at the Musée de la Toile de Jouy.
