Its complex know-how consists in transforming designs into patterns on the sock.
A good interpretation of paper drawing as well as full knowledge of the technical constraints are essential in order to create the computer program that pilots the knitting machine.
There are however, certain technical limitations to this process because the finer and / or more complex the design and the more numerous the colours, the harder it is to design the program.
Socks manufactured by Broussaud Textiles go through several different stages of production:
- drawing / programming
- turning (turn the sock out to prepare it for the next step)
- reshaping (closing of the sock with a seam)
- shaping (the socks are positioned on metal feet and steamed)
- pairing with pair-to-pair quality control (according to a traditional method used since 1938)
