Since its founding in the 1970s, RELTEX has made outsoles directly from rubber tree milk from plantations in Southeast Asia.

In the main, these soles, marketed under the brand name "LACTAE HEVEA”, are made to measure for upscale footwear manufacturers.  Part of what is manufactured is exported. The company is set in a little rural commune in the Dauphiné region, between Lyon and Grenoble. To make its rubber tree-milk soles, RELTEX has developed an exclusive, entirely manual refining process, similar to that of cheese making: casting of the rubber tree milk in moulds, coagulation, baking and drying. The soles produced in this way have a natural microstructure of alveoli, unique in the world, consisting of cushions of air that bring unparalleled comfort and softness. Twenty manual operations are required to make one sole. Owing to the high degree of comfort they provide, Lactea Hevea soles are particularly recommended by the medical profession. RELTEX stands out for its unique know-how, at the service of footwear designers in search of originality, quality and authenticity.
