Set in Paris’s Faubourg Saint-Antoine, the historical centre for fine cabinetmaking, Degroote et Mussy carries on the traditional techniques of the craft.

With its own research office, the firm specialises in the bespoke production of high-class furniture and cabinetwork, as well as the reproduction of period furniture. Degroote et Mussy also undertakes the restoration of furniture, its manager holding accreditation to work for France’s national museums. Lastly, the firm owns the estate of Maison Jansen, the renowned cabinetmaker’s of the 19th to late-20th centuries.  All cabinetmaking operations that involve mechanisation take place on the firm’s other premises in Haute-Marne. The Paris workshop thus focuses exclusively on the traditional manual cabinetmaking tasks which afford the furniture its authenticity and high finish. Over the years, the firm has put together a collection of new designs mostly for architects and interior designers. The work is carried out exclusively to order. Degroote et Mussy is very much present on the international markets which today account for two thirds of its activity.
