The first Furic canning factory opened in Guilvinec in 1923. They can sardines and mackerel and langoustines, which have become the company's specialty.
The company has specific expertise in sealing process technology. The complex operations learned from their historic expertise of canning lie in the selection and preparation of the fish and the canning process itself, with its crimping and sterilisation operations. When landings arrive, the operators in charge of selecting the fish are present at auctions every day to guarantee quality and supply.

All fish are individually sorted by hand. For fresh sardines, the manufacturing process adheres to NFV45-071 standard for traditional sardines: brining; manual gutting of sardines; drying then frying with oil, manual canning with cutting of the collars and tails before canning; specific arrangement of sardines in the tins.

The company opens its doors to the public to reveal the secrets of the canning industry. They receive over 1,500 visitors every year.
