Atelier Desmarchelier - Le Canu
The workshop’s rare know-how is in the field of bow-making: the bows are made using a hand tool, according to the traditional method developed by François-Xavier Tourte.
It works with noble materials which characterise luxury bows. The company is a member of the IPCI, an international association that replants and protects Brazilwood crops (notably by associating it with cocoa) in order to perpetuate this rare wood. Assembly follows the rules of the art and uses animal glue.
The company works to order, particularly for the bows. For the latter, two thirds of customers are foreign professional soloists.
