In 1929, Mr and Mrs Février opened their first feathermaking studio and put their passion for lightweight, colourful creations at the service of Parisian fashion and sophistication. Headdresses, boas, collars, back pieces, fans and accessories: Maison Février’s ever more ambitious designs attracted the queen of music hall herself, Mistinguett.
The only studio with the know-how to make music-hall feather costumes, Maison Février has collaborated on the most prestigious productions, in particular shows at the Moulin Rouge, Folies Bergères, Paris Casino and Lido, as well as the Paris Opera and the theatre. From Mistinguett and Josephine Baker to Dita Von Teese, artists admire the elegance and robustness of Maison Février’s creations. It is not surprising that this unique know-how also attracts top fashion houses like Jean-Paul Gaultier, Givenchy, Yves Saint-Laurent and Dior. From prototype to finished article, Maison Février uses its traditional skills to produce the most beautiful handmade pieces from ostrich, rhea, heron and red bird-of-paradise feathers, imported from around the world.
