Founded in 1978, the company is specialised in making/restoring monumental staircases, spinning iron/copper and in bronze joinery. Its products are in the luxury segment. The company has filed several patents. Les Métalliers Champenois still use traditional bronze work techniques (drawing, forging, joinery, etc.). At the same time, the company carries out research into improving the bronze work process (e.g. surface treatment). More than one third of the employees are "compagnons du devoir” or specialised technicians. After a project in the United States, the company created a subsidiary in New Jersey, in Peterson. Its products are exported to the European Union, the United States, Asia and the Middle East. It works for companies, individuals and a few institutions, particularly on restoration projects.
