Claire Babet Vitraux
Find us on the Route of EPV:
After several years dedicated to teaching the art of stained glass, Claire Babet, a painter and glass-art maker who graduated in 1990 from the Paris ENSAAMA's Craftsmanship trades, with a specialisation in stained glass, took over the management of Atelier Michel Petit.
The workshop restores heritage stained glass. Thanks to its accreditations, it can work on historical monuments as it has expertise in some of the most delicate restoration-conservation techniques. The workshop works on restoration techniques in collaboration with the Champs-sur-Marne historical monuments research laboratory. With the required skills to work on 13th to 19th century stained glass, the workshop has worked, notably, on the stained glass windows of the Chartres, Troyes, Tours and Bourges cathedrals. Recently, the journeyman-glaziers restored the stained glass windows of the Rouen court-house, the Troyes Saint-Jean au Marché Church and the La Londe, Habloville, Les Mesnuls and Saint-Rémy l’Honoré churches.
Each year, Claire Babet attends trade fairs (Chartres Crafts Fair, Paris Autumn Fair, Regional Craftsmanship Fair in Orléans) and exhibitions.
