Shipbuilding and repair
16 rue de l'Aiguillon
33260 la teste de buch
Nouvelle Aquitaine

In 1863, Jean Bonnin founded a site on the banks of the Garonne, for the maintenance of schooners, brigs and river boats ...). Today the yard is still run by the same family and retains its expertise in the construction, restoration and repair of ships.
Their rare expertise concerns the restoration of old boats. The site works to industry standards: wood boiled in ovens for the hot bending of acacia timbers, binding and replacement of planks, traditional caulking with twine. The company is famous for its varnishes. The clientele consists mainly of private customers, some orders come from companies. The clientele is regional for more than half of the orders, the others are from other regions.

The company is currently working on the oldest boat in the Arcachon Basin, an 8m international gauge that has just celebrated its 80th anniversary, the Juanita 2, built in 1916 and classified as a historic monument. The yard has been featured in numerous articles in the local and specialist press (The Yacht, Classic Yachting, Chasse-Marée, Voiles magazine) and a report was produced by RTL in March 2018 (La France des artisans).
