Sale to private individuals and professionals
Established in 1990, Atelier St Eloi specialises in chasing.
The chaser cold works metal plate (silver, bronze, gold, copper, etc.) supplied by smelters and refiners. Atelier St Eloi mainly uses the ‘tracé matis’ technique (on flat plates) using a wide range of chisels with different tips, the ‘repoussé‘ technique that consists of hammering a motif into low relief from the reverse side, and the ‘recovery’ of cast iron whereby a cast object is restored to its former glory by working on its grain and texture. It is one of the few remaining companies to keep the ancient technique of chasing alive and provides the following: the design, selection and/or manufacture of tools; hammering, pitch work on balls or sandbags, repoussage, annealing, ‘tracé matis’ and recovery of objects from the foundry.

Customers include Christofle, Volevatch, Maison Fontaine, Parmenon (supplier to flautist Jean-Pierre Rampal), Atelier d’Art Liturgique – Chéret, Chevillard (EPV) along with private customers, museums, dioceses and congrégations.
