Carrières Plo was founded in 1978 in the granite mountains of Sidore. In 1991, the company reopened the marble quarries in Sarrancolin in Hautes-Pyrénées.
Its expertise is uncommon both in terms of the small number of operators and the technology used, unique and at the very cutting edge: vertical and horizontal boring and drilling using a large diamond disc cutter and diamond wire saw. The company has also earned a name in the trade through its production of long and solid columns and pillars.

Customers are marble companies and businesses in the public works industry (Vinci, Eiffage). Carrières Pli also makes sales overseas in countries including Germany, UK, China, Spain, India, Italy, Japan, Czech Republic and Poland. The company supplied materials used to build the Hong Kong metro and kerbs and paving at airports in Toulouse and Germany.

It is also known for the materials it has supplied to prestigious granite sites: the Champs Élysées in Paris, the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, and the memorial at the National History Museum in London. It was also a supplier for the Media Library and Medical Faculty at Montpellier University and others. Its marble can be found at the MGM casino in Macao, the Shard in London, the Georges V hotel in Paris, and other locations worldwide.
