The art of "furniture framing” was in fact founded by artisan cabinetmakers Atelier du Meuble Contemporain.

The art form was developed by managing director Bernard Mauffret after a rather unusual career path. Starting out with a carpentry apprenticeship at the Compagnons du Devoir association followed by work experience in the world of architecture, Mauffret then applied his skills to furniture to bring a sense of functionality, modularity and mobility to the industry. The company’s particular know-how is based on applying framework principles and techniques, above all the system of descriptive geometry, to furniture design.Clean-lined tables, armchairs and chests of drawers are distinctive through their three-dimensional structures, embodying the union of framework, architecture and design.  Bernard Mauffret’s company was honoured at the Paris Furniture Show in 2005 and can boast a strong position in the design sector. Mauffret’s creations have been acquired by countless museums and national institutions. His designs meet the criteria of collectors and interior designers on the lookout for original pieces.  AMC also produces furniture prototypes for designers and furniture manufacturers.
