Founded in 1852, "Mégisserie Richard” is located in Millau, capital of the leather and glove industry for centuries.

Originally, the company had one unit for glove-making and one unit for tawing leather. Today, it is entirely specialised in the latter. The company mainly works lambskins for the luxury industry and haute couture companies. It works around 200,000 skins per year. From animal pelts, it produces tanned and tinted leathers for high-quality articles for ready-to-wear fashion, leather goods, gloves and shoes. Specialised in soft skins, the company particularly works lambskins from Aveyron in France or Entrefinos in Spain. It also treats, but to a lesser extent, kid, goat or stag skins.
