Born out of a family’s desire to structure three generations of porcelain-making expertise, J. Merigous was founded as a company in 1954, allowing it to apply its expertise in the field of decorative hardware.

In this field of decorative Limoges porcelain hardware, the company holds an impressive offering of door handles, knobs and pulls, bed balls and stair balls. Merigous also manufactures many other items, however, such as nameplates, components for bathroom fittings, switch concealers, street furniture, limited edition creations or editions exclusively manufactured for designers.

With a collection of moulds dating back more than sixty years, the Merigous factory masters the assembly and installation of porcelain, with pieces of hardware for the operation of a door handle when mounted on the lock.

Its staff manually performs pressing, traditional or pressure casting, finishing, glazing and decorating of their own glazes. An innovative company, it has recently filed a patent on a door handle lift system. In addition, it is involved in lots of research activities, particularly in partnership with the Centre of Research on Ceramics and Enamel Applications in Art and Design (CRAFT - Centre de Recherche des Arts du Feu et de la Terre). Merigous is a member of the European Centre of Ceramics.

Merigous products are sold in specialty equipment and home decoration shops in France and abroad (EEC, Japan, USA, Middle East and Asia). Many producers rely on Merigous expertise.
