Meubles Pierre Monoury - Atelier d'art
Find us on the Route of EPV:
Trained at the Ecole des Maîtres of the Manufacture Royale des Meubles de la Couronne, Alexandre Siméon Monoury arrived in Revel in 1888. There he founded his workshop and Revel’s tradition of cabinetwork. This activity developed in the 20th century, supplying the Faubourg St Antoine. It reached its peak after World War 2, between 1950 and 1975. More than 150 workshops worked in this field at the time. Throughout the 20th century, Revel was known as the “city of creative furniture”, specialised in copying 18th century marquetry furniture.
The workshop still makes copies of 18th century marquetry furniture and wood panelling, but also reproductions of regional solid wood furniture and solid wood furniture from the 18th and 19th centuries (Directoire , Empire and Louis-Philippe). The workshop also restores furniture and makes contemporary models.
Production follows traditional cabinetwork techniques. The furniture is made to measure, based on selected options. The company produces for private and professional customers.
The company’s productions are available directly from the workshop, to order and via the Website.
